The Class Scheduling Coordinator is a key member of the Office of the University Registrar, responsible for coordinating the development and maintenance of the university's academic schedule. This position manages scheduling processes, supports curriculum implementation, and ensures the accuracy of academic information within the Student Information System. The coordinator works closely with academic departments, faculty, and university partners to facilitate efficient scheduling and registration processes that support student success and institutional operations.
This position also supports curriculum management functions by processing approved curriculum changes, maintaining accurate academic records, and assisting with general office operations. The Class Scheduling Coordinator serves as a resource for faculty and staff regarding scheduling practices and Student Information System processes.

Class Scheduling Coordinator (Student Services Associate 2 - MR06), Office of the University Registrar - UT Chattanooga
Minimum
- Associate’s degree
- Experience in higher education, preferably in a Registrar’s Office
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and technology platforms
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree
- Three to five years of experience in higher education, preferably within a Registrar's Office
- Experience using student information systems, including Banner Student
- Knowledge of curriculum management, academic records, scheduling, and registration processes
- Familiarity with FERPA and higher education records-management practices
- Experience providing training and support to faculty and staff users of technology systems

Class Scheduling and Schedule Management
- Creates and maintains the university class schedule within the Student Information System each academic term
- Supports effective utilization of the university scheduling system, including 25Live
- Manages and maintains schedule editing processes and workflows
- Assigns classrooms to maximize institutional space utilization
- Maintains scheduling documentation and training materials
- Trains and assists faculty and staff on scheduling best practices and processes
- Manages and monitors scheduling communications and inquiries through departmental email accounts
Curriculum Management and Academic Records Support
- Processes approved curriculum changes through accurate and timely transmission of data into the Student Information System
- Uses reporting tools to validate curriculum information and ensure data accuracy
- Reviews catalog and curriculum data to maintain alignment between systems and published information
- Collaborates with registrar staff and campus partners to ensure curriculum changes are accurately reflected in student records and registration processes
- Coordinates with registrar leadership to support efficient and effective registration experiences for students
Student and Registrar Services Support
Serves as the primary or lead pre-registration processor for new students during peak enrollment cycles
Provides backup support for withdrawal processing and related student records functions
Cross-trains and assists with customer service functions, including major changes, concurrent enrollment processing, and student information updates
Assists students, faculty, and staff with registrar-related processes and inquiries
Projects and Process Improvement
- Participates in special projects that support the integrity and security of student records
- Serves as a functional lead on data cleanup and process improvement initiatives
- Supports institutional initiatives and university-wide projects assigned to the Registrar's Office
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of departmental and institutional goals
