- Schedule all facilities at the Farm for events, including but not limited to corporate retreats, group events, overnight stays, weddings, meals, and associated programming
- Maximize use of the areas of Lone Oaks while creating great experiences for clients and guests through collaborative management or the master calendar for all individual buildings and outdoor spaces at the Farm
- First point of contact for potential guests, is the primary on-site coordinator for all events at the Farm, and works with the business manager to ifnalize invoices from vendors and to clients
The Hospitality Coordinator will provide leadership to the hospitality business area at Lone Oaks Farm, the 4-H & Youth Development Center, and the event/retreat center in West Tennessee.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in customer service.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to communicate with a broad range of people.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience:
- Experience in the hospitality/customer service industry.
- Knowledge and experience with technology, including computer skills. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.

UT market range: Anticipated hiring range: $47,840 - $52,000

UT Extension provides a gateway to the University of Tennessee, serving as the outreach unit of the
Institute of Agriculture. With an office in every Tennessee County, UT Extension delivers educational
programs and research-based information to citizens throughout the state. In cooperation with Tennessee
State University, UT Extension works with farmers, families, youth, and communities to improve lives by
addressing problems and issues at the local, state, and national levels.
The Hospitality Coordinator position is housed at Lone Oaks Farm, a facility operated by UT Extension. The position reports to the Farm Director. This is a full-time position.
Duties include:
- Schedule, organize, and execute events at Lone Oaks Farm with the clients and Farm staff, to
include scheduling of specific buildings as well as equipment, supplies, vendors, and staff
needed to create outstanding events. - Execution of events includes coordination of and, many times, physically setting up for guests'
needs. As such, this is a hands-on position that includes the work to set up, break down, and
clean up with assistance from other team members. - Prepare and finalize individual rental agreements and group contracts for the rental of the facility
for approval by the Farm director. - Serve as the primary point of contact with customers for all on-site events.
- Prepare final charges for events for submission to the Business Office.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for potential customers at the facility via phone calls, Online contacts, or referrals.
- Conducting facility tours for potential guests, discussing pricing and fee structures.
- Outreach to historical clients for interest in future events.
- Explore, propose, and help implement new and innovative ways to reach potential customers
and serve their needs. Examples include, but are not limited to, trade and wedding shows, trade
and commodity group outreach, and development of new programming and experience
offerings. - Other Duties as assigned.
- Occasionally, needs arise for this position to perform tasks outside the everyday items listed above.
