The senior producer works as a member of the Video Production team within the Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM) to support the mission of OCM and the overall mission of the university. The senior producer functions as an experienced “video storyteller” and produces videos that promote UT Knoxville’s brand and image, regularly producing high profile projects for executive level administration. Projects focus on a wide range of visual communications including recruiting prospective students to the university, generating awareness for campus-wide initiatives, engaging alumni, and informing our local, statewide and national community about academic successes and impactful research.

Required

  • High School Diploma and at least 9 years of video production experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; OR,

  • Associate’s degree and at least 7 years of video production experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; OR,

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of video production experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Required experience from PD

  • Advanced knowledge of video production principles

  • Strong videography skills

  • Strong audio production skills

  • Strong lighting skills

  • Adobe Premiere or AVID Media Composer non-linear editing skills

  • Video production planning skills

  • Visual storytelling skills

  • Ability to create motion graphics and animation

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to learn new software

  • Ability to direct talent and conduct interviews

  • Ability to estimate cost and stay within a project’s budget

  • Ability to operate various types of video cameras including HDSLR and documentary-style motion picture cameras

  • Multi-role LIVE video production skills

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years video production experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to operate advanced cinematography cameras including ARRI or Canon models

  • Strong non-linear editing skills

  • Adobe Creative Suite Software Skills

  • DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premier color grading skills

  • Advanced project management skills

  • This is an onsite position with some hybrid work schedule flexibility

  • Video Production: Determines creative direction and visual tone for content. Creates, plans, oversees, and executes all facets of high-quality video productions. Operates video cameras and directs lighting setups in field and studio production. Edits audio/video footage on computer editing systems. Develops and executes visual graphic ideas, motion graphics and animations. May direct the work of others on video projects.

  • Project Management: Manages all aspects of a video project from initial concept to final delivery. Interacts with clients to determine project scope and continues correspondence to project completion. Schedules staff, equipment and participants for video productions. Establishes financial budgets for video projects, and is responsible for maintaining cost control.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Initiates customer/client relationships across campus and externally, from the department level to upper administration. Maintains positive lines of communication/feedback during video projects. Collaborates with other Communications & Marketing team members on department-wide, strategic initiatives.
