The Receptionist serves as the first-point of contact in the assigned department within The Division of Student Success. Greeting both students and guests, this person creates a welcoming environment. The receptionist also manages phone calls for the Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration (CCDAE), University Honors (UH), Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (URF), and the Academic Success Center (ASC) and screens and forwards emails for those departments as well.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • 6-months experience working in a public-facing role

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Good customer services skills

  • Ability to respond to emails using appropriate grammar

  • Ability to answer phone and take accurate messages

  • Ability to follow directions

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Word

  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.

Compensation and Benefits

  • UT market range: MR04
  • Anticipated hiring range: $25 hourly

Receptionist Duties (100%)

  • Greets visitors to the Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration
  • Notifies staff when appointments arrive
  • Manages the photo booth
  • Keeps area neat and clean
  • Manages phone calls for CCDAE, UH, URF, and ASC, connecting callers to the appropriate staff and relaying messages
  • Manages email inboxes for CCDAE, UH, URF, and ASC ensuring that all emails are either answered or forwarded to the appropriate staff within 4 business hours
