The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Content Communications Coordinator for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Reporting to the Director of Content Communications, the Content Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting and executing the Division of Advancement’s content strategy with a primary focus on writing, storytelling, content coordination, and performance tracking.
This role will produce compelling materials that highlight the impact of private support and showcase the achievements of alumni, donors, and the university, promoting alumni engagement and enhancing the university’s reputation.
The Content Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting and executing the Division of Advancement’s content strategy with a primary focus on writing, storytelling, content coordination, and performance tracking.
Required Education and Experience
The candidate who fills the Content Communications Coordinator position is required to have:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ year of experience in communications- related role with substantial writing responsibilities
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.
Preferred Education and Experience
- In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
- Foundational skills in content performance tracking and analysis
- Project Management experience

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Content Development and Storytelling: Serves as the primary writer for Advancement copywriting, developing content for partner programs, events, fundraising campaigns, awards, and stewardship materials with strong audience awareness. Produces media advisories, press releases, feature stories, and impact-driven content that highlight alumni, donors, and Advancement initiatives while aligning with institutional messaging and brand standards. Content supports Advancement goals by strengthening alumni engagement, donor storytelling, and visibility across university-wide platforms.
Content Tracking, Reporting and Optimization: Tracks content pickup across campus and external channels, Monitors and analyzes content performance metrics and KPIs, such as engagement data and audience survey responses informing future content planning and optimization. Supports qualitative audience survey development and manages story lead intake and tracking to support regular content planning and prioritization. Coordinates content-related projects and collaborates with internal teams to align tracking systems with project management tools, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and consistent oversight of Advancement stories.
