The Pressure Washing Technician is responsible for operating ariel lifts and pressure washing equipment safely and efficiently using detergents, degreasers, and additives as required in the cleaning of exterior building surfaces of any structural or non-structural components.

Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: Three (3) years of experience, or a combination of trade school and experience. (Experience may substitute for trade school education on a year to year basis.)
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability and knowledge of using pressure washing equipment
- Knowledge of numerous types of pressure washing cleaning detergents, degreasers, and additives
- Must have knowledge of proper pressure washing techniques
- Ability and knowledge of using an aerial lift
- Must have knowledge of proper ladder use.
- Must have knowledge of proper surface protection materials
- Ability to properly determine what surface protection is needed
- Ability to communicate with all departmental personnel, staff and faculty
Other Conditions: Valid Driver’s license

About the Department
UT Facilities Services is responsible for the care and keeping of more than 300 facilities and utilities systems in and around Knoxville. As the University of Tennessee Knoxville’s largest non-academic department, team members are responsible for facilities maintenance and repair, custodial needs, landscaping and lawncare, utility work, in-house and capital construction projects, facilities planning and design, environmental initiatives, pest control, campus event services, and facilities administration functions for both the flagship campus and the agricultural institute. The Facilities Services staff provides around-the-clock coverage to ensure students, staff, faculty, and fans have a consistent and positive experience every time they step foot on Rocky Top.
- Operate pressure washer machinery safely and effectively to clean a variety of surfaces
- Assessing the need, quantity and use of different detergents, degreasers and additives
- Operate aerial lifts
- Maintaining pressure washing equipment
- Must have knowledge of proper surface protection materials
- Ability to properly determine what surface protection is needed
- Prepping and cleaning up job sites
