Under the direction of the Head Coach, the Director of Football Operations executes all operational matters relating to the football program, student-athletes, and coaching staff. The Director manages the budget for the football program and handles the daily operating functions within the program; assists with on-campus recruiting events; serves as a point of contact for facilities and event management; fulfills procurement card holder policy and procedures; and is responsible for organizing, budgeting, and coordinating team travel.

Minimum: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; and two to three years of experience in college football. A valid drivers license is required.

Preferred: Two to three years of direct experience in Division 1 college football at the FCS level is preferred.


  • Coordinates transportation, hotels, and meals for away-from-home contests
  • Coordinates transportation, pre and post-game meals for home contests
  • Coordinates summer/preseason housing and meals
  • Coordinates preseason football camp
  • Assists with recruiting
  • Manages and organizes Teamworks calendar
  • Supervises work study and team video interns
  • Functions as liaison for alumni relations, donors, compliance, event management, and other institutional departments
  • Fulfills procurement card holder responsibilities
  • Reconciles ledgers, expense reports, and entries into Concur for staff
  • Assists with donor relations, community relations, and community service

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Knowledge of Intercollegiate football at the Division 1 level
  • Knowledge of the NCAA compliance rules, especially recruiting
  • Knowledge of ARMS software
  • Knowledge of Teamworks software
  • Ability to travel extensively
  • Ability to deliver the same and consistent messages as the head coach about all aspects of the football program
  • Experience with on-campus recruiting
  • Experience with travel planning for a collegiate athletic program
  • Management experience in a college athletic setting
