The Academic Records Evaluator is responsible for reviewing and certifying that undergraduate students have fulfilled all academic requirements for graduation. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of student records throughout their academic journey and is key to commencement preparation.

The Academic Records Evaluator (Student Services Associate 3 - MR06) is responsible for reviewing and certifying that undergraduate students have fulfilled all academic requirements for graduation.

Required:

  • Associate’s degree.
  • One (1) year of experience in higher education, preferably in a Registrar’s Office.
  • Prior work experience in registrar or enrollment management may substitute for education; each two years of experience counts as one year of post-secondary education.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in higher education in a Registrar’s Office.
  • Familiarity with the standard AACRAO records-keeping procedures, FERPA and other legal issues related to official academic records or academic history.
  • Banner experience using Student module and Degree Works.

Work Location:

  • University of Tennessee – Chattanooga, TN Campus

  • This is a fully on-site position.

Office Support & Cross-Training

  • Assist with academic history processes, catalog projects, and schedule edits
  • Participate in quality control initiatives

Student Records Management

  • Process major changes, course substitutions, and petitions
  • Maintain accurate student records in MyMocsDegree

Campus Collaboration

  • Advise students and collaborate with advisors and department heads
  • Participate in the Advisors Council to stay informed on academic policies

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Knowledge of higher education policies and procedures related to graduation requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Above-average organizational, computer, and computational skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to quickly learn and apply new information.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing effectively in team environments.
