The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Center for Professional Education (CPE) is seeking a creative, strategic, and data-driven Marketing and Communications Manager to lead marketing efforts that support adult learners, workforce partners, and community programming. This position plays a key role in growing enrollment, strengthening brand presence, and supporting revenue goals across CPE’s professional and continuing education portfolio.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Center for Professional Education (CPE) is seeking a creative, strategic, and data-driven Marketing and Communications Manager to lead marketing efforts that support adult learners, workforce partners, and community programming.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience developing and managing marketing campaigns, including content creation and performance tracking

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience in higher education, continuing education, outreach, or similar environments
  • Experience managing campaigns with defined goals and measurable outcomes

Work Location:

  • University of Tennessee – Chattanooga, TN Campus
  • This is a fully on-site position.

Compensation and Benefits:


Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management

  • Lead the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns for CPE programs and initiatives.
  • Translate program, enrollment, and revenue goals into targeted marketing plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Select communication channels based on audience insights and program priorities.
  • Ensure alignment with UTC-approved messaging, branding, and communication standards.
  • Adjust campaign strategies as needed to support participation and revenue goals.

Budget Support & Administrative Coordination

  • Support the development and monitoring of marketing budgets.
  • Track campaign expenditures and recommend adjustments.
  • Contribute to reporting, documentation, and process-improvement efforts.

Content Development & Brand Execution

  • Write, edit, and produce content that supports programs, services, and brand initiatives.
  • Develop content for email marketing, websites, landing pages, course descriptions, social media, and digital ads.
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and adherence to communication standards.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to gather and update program information.

Data Analysis & Performance Optimization

  • Collect and analyze marketing data to evaluate campaign performance.
  • Use analytics tools, CRM data, and ad-platform insights to identify trends.
  • Recommend improvements to increase reach, conversions, and overall effectiveness.
  • Stay current on internal benchmarks and industry best practices.

Marketing Systems & Tools

  • Use and support marketing systems, including CRM platforms, email marketing systems, and advertising dashboards.
  • Assist with marketing automation workflows that support lead management and the customer experience.
  • Evaluate tools and methodologies that enable efficient and effective campaign execution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of marketing principles, campaign execution, and digital communication channels
  • Knowledge of continuing education, professional education, or adult learning markets
  • Knowledge of marketing analytics tools, CRM systems, and advertising platforms
  • Skill in planning, coordinating, and managing multiple marketing projects simultaneously
  • Skill in graphic design or visual content development
  • Skill in writing and editing copy for a variety of communication channels
  • Skill in analyzing marketing data and applying insights to campaign decisions
  • Ability to translate organizational goals into marketing strategies and measurable outcomes
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines within established guidelines
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to follow protocols and standards when developing marketing materials
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to develop and manage marketing automations and workflows
  • Ability to support enrollment growth through targeted and data-informed marketing efforts
