Civil and Environmental Engineering invites applications for one full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to collaborate with our team in environmental and analytical chemistry to study fate and transport of emerging pollutants in the environment. The post doc will work within a dynamic research team, will be exposed to interdisciplinary research and engagement, and will be expected to communicate with diverse audiences through various media.

The position is available to start as soon as filled. The Postdoctoral researcher will report to Dr. Fuhar Dixit. The compensation package includes a competitive salary, health benefits, career mentoring, and required travel.

Required Qualifications:

  • A PhD with emphasis on environmental and analytical chemistry, or in a related field, completed within the last 4 years and before starting of appointment.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings Fellow
  • Strong written and oral communication, management, and team leadership.
  • Ability to work with internal and external collaborators to contribute and facilitate progress in research projects.
  • Ability to manage and mentor graduate students in research

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lead authorship of papers in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Strong capabilities in analytical chemistry and mass spectrometry.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams.
  • Strong background in preparing/delivering impromptu project presentations.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Anticipated hiring range: $75,024

  • Conduct analysis and fate and transport studies on environmental contaminants.
