Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
• Three years of relevant, progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Experience working in a higher education institution, campus operations, and student support.
• Supervisor experience.
• Demonstrated abilities in leadership, human relations, communication skills (written and verbal), and organizational skills.
• Evidence of strong work ethic related to decision-making, timeliness of reporting, oversight of multiple and ongoing projects, and the ability and passion for working with community, industry, and K-12 partners.

Minimum hiring rate $73,476.42 annually (Market Range MR14). Salary commensurate with education and experience.


• Oversee the coordination, planning, marketing, recruitment, scheduling, and management of all UT Martin Selmer Center operations, including academic programs, classroom and facilities management, faculty and student support services, and distance learning education.
• Develop and implement recruitment strategies and events within McNairy County and the surrounding region; represent the Selmer Center through public speaking, community engagement, and outreach to high schools, community colleges, and stakeholders.
• Serve as an ambassador for UT Martin by building and maintaining relationships with local donors, city and county officials, educators, business leaders, civic partners, and community organizations; represent the university on boards, at public events, and through outreach initiatives.
• Advise and support prospective and enrolled students through admissions, registration, enrollment, orientation, academic conduct matters, financial aid processes, transcript requests, and referrals for health and mental health services.
• Manage the daily operations of the Selmer Center, including facilities, equipment, inventory, safety and emergency protocols, and distance learning technology support.
• Develop, implement, and assess center goals aligned with UT Martin policies and the university’s strategic plan; analyze program effectiveness, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with SACS and university standards.
• Recruit, supervise, evaluate, and develop full-time staff and adjunct faculty; manage work assignments, HR processes, workshops, and timesheet approvals in accordance with personnel policies.
• Maintain accurate administrative and academic records; oversee reservations, event logistics, reporting, and compliance requirements; administer proficiency and placement testing; and facilitate communication among staff, faculty, and students.
• Coordinate and administer scholarships, including McNairy County, Last Dollar, Water Department, and Online Tuition Assistance scholarships, ensuring effective outreach and communication.
• Develop and manage the Selmer Center budget, including monitoring expenditures, revenue, and projections; oversee advertising production, marketing strategies, and promotional schedules in collaboration with University Relations and vendors.
• Identify challenges and recommend solutions to support the growth of degree and non-degree programs.
• Participate in university-wide initiatives, serve on committees, collaborate with other off-campus center directors, mentor students, and complete special projects in support of the university’s mission.
• Travel throughout West Tennessee as required to support center operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned for the Office of Regional Centers and Online Programs, including organizing and overseeing programs and activities at The University of Tennessee at Martin’s Coon Creek Science Center, such as community days and STEM Camp; recruiting and scheduling participation by schools and community groups; managing program funds and invoicing; overseeing facility maintenance; and supervising the site manager/program manager.
