THIS POSITION IS BASED IN THE COLLEGE OF PHARMACY ON THE NASHVILLE, TN CAMPUS.

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Coordinator of Student Services provides high-quality, comprehensive support for student pharmacists in a welcoming and supportive environment. The Coordinator for Student Services is a professional staff role located on the Nashville campus of the UT Health Science Center College of Pharmacy. Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the Coordinator serves as a key partner in developing, implementing, and assessing student support initiatives, professional development programs, major college events, and recruitment activities. This position collaborates with the Director of Student Services, the Coordinator for Student Services in Knoxville, other university departments, and external partners to resolve student issues, respond to crises, and advance the mission of the Office of Student Affairs.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (Master’s Degree in Higher Education or related field preferred.) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of relevant experience in Student Affairs/higher education student services; OR a combination of education and experience to equal eight (8) years. A valid Driver’s License is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong skills in mentoring/advising students, and proven ability in exhibiting strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills including database management, word processing, and webpage maintenance.
  • Knowledge of general academic recruitment, academic counseling procedures, college enrollment policies and procedures and a basic understanding of distance education concepts and technologies.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evening hours, with some travel.


  1. Plans, coordinates, and manages major student programs and events including Nashville Orientation, P3 Pinning, Dean’s List Receptions, Pharmacy Mentoring activities, wellness initiatives, and Career Day events.
  2. Serves as an integral part of the Office of Academic Affairs Early Intervention Team, in supporting the Early Intervention Program by proactively contacting students who identify Student Affairs–related challenges contributing to academic difficulties, providing guidance or referrals, documenting interactions, and tracking progress over time to support student success and retention.
  3. Collaborates with the Director of Student Services to assess the effectiveness of programs through data collection, reporting, and recommendations for continuous improvement as part of accreditation.
  4. Provides advising and support to students, evaluating needs and referring to appropriate resources; documents advising sessions and tracks student outcomes to inform retention efforts and program improvements for accreditation purposes and strategic enrollment.
  5. Serves as the on-site coordinator and primary contact for Nashville-based events, resolving logistical challenges and addressing issues as they arise.
  6. Develop and distribute internal communications and marketing materials (graphics, emails, RSVP tracking) for events and initiatives hosted by the Office of Student Affairs.
  7. Participates in recruitment initiatives by representing the College of Pharmacy at college fairs, high school visits, and community events; provides information and guidance to prospective students.
  8. Supports recruitment communication efforts by utilizing digital and social media platforms to promote the College’s programs and highlight student success stories.
  9. Assists the Office of Academic Affairs with exam administration and proctoring, and maintains a secure and compliant testing environment.
  10. Contributes to the development, monitoring, and interpretation of college policies and procedures that impact academic programs and student services.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
