The Office of Admissions at the University of Tennessee at Martin is accepting applications for an Adult and Returning Student Admissions Coordinator. The Adult and Returning Student Admissions Coordinator is responsible for re-engaging and supporting students who have previously attended UT Martin but have not completed their degree. This position will proactively reach out to stopped-out students, assist them through the re-enrollment process, and help address barriers that may prevent their return. In addition, this position will serve as a key contact for non-traditional and adult learners. The coordinator will manage a scholarship budget designed to support returning students, coordinate the evaluation and awarding of prior learning credit, and serve as a primary contact for adult learners beginning or resuming their college education. This role requires close collaboration with campus partners to ensure a seamless and supportive transition back to the university.

Bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Advanced degree preferred

Minimum hiring rate $45,623.07 annual (Market Range 09) – Salary commensurate with education and experience.


Re-engage stopped-out students and complete re-enrollment initiatives
-Develop and implement a comprehensive outreach plan to identify, contact, and support students who have previously attended UT Martin but not completed their degree.
-Work with the Enrollment Communications team to create and distribute targeted communications (email, phone, text, mail, and social media) to encourage re-enrollment.
-Analyze data to identify patterns and reasons for student stop-out and use insights to inform outreach and retention strategies.
-Serve as the primary point of contact for returning students, assisting them in navigating the re-enrollment process.

Coordinate prior learning credit processes
-Develop, oversee and manage the evaluation and awarding of prior learning credit in collaboration with academic departments and the Registrar’s Office in accordance with University catalog guidelines, policies, and procedures.
-Maintain clear communication with students regarding requirements, documentation, and outcomes of prior learning assessments.
-Ensure compliance with institutional and state policies related to transfer and experiential learning credit.

Support adult learners and non-traditional student populations
-Serve as a resource for adult learners exploring college for the first time or returning to complete a degree.
-Provide guidance on admissions, prior learning credit, financial aid, and flexible learning options.
-Coordinate with regional centers and online programs to facilitate access and success for adult learners.

Manage the Finish Line scholarship program
-Administer a scholarship budget to assist returning students in overcoming financial barriers to re-enrollment.
-Establish criteria, promote availability, and coordinate the application and awarding process.
-Track scholarship recipients and assess the impact of financial support on student persistence and completion.

Other recruitment and outreach related duties as assigned.
