The Coordinator for Student Involvement is charged with improving student life by working with various departments within the university to create an environment that fosters and promotes student learning and development. This is an integral position in the department that is responsible for providing oversight for all aspects of the Student Involvement Program. The Coordinator for Student Involvement interacts daily with 150+ Student Organizations, their 2000+ members, and alumni. The Center for Student Engagement is home to approximately 150 Recognized Student Organizations and 18 national/international fraternities and sororities. Student Involvement provides service opportunities, leadership training, and student engagement opportunities to all students, and coordinates or plays a role in several university events including Welcome Weekend, Homecoming, Family Weekend, Greekfest, I Heart UTM Week, and more.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience in a student leadership/advising position (undergraduate experience may count).
• Knowledge of student life, fraternity/sorority operations, and community engagement.
• Ability to advise and support diverse student populations.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to think critically, manage multiple priorities, and navigate sensitive issues.
• Proficiency in event planning, use of engagement platforms, and service tracking systems.

Minimum hiring rate $37,705.02 (Market Range 07) – Salary commensurate with education and experience.


• Assist with leading and directing Center for Student Engagement events and activities
• Develop and increase culturally relevant and student focused activities and programs promoting greater involvement for all students and integrate student learning outcomes reflecting our mission.
• Research best practices in student life initiatives and incorporate those findings into actionable strategic plans.
• Manage and facilitate the recruitment programs of IFC and CPC Organizations and serve as the liaison between University and National Greek Organizations and Chapter Advisers.
• Oversee process of developing new organizations and facilitate regular meetings of student leaders to communicate programming, policies and address issues.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, evaluate and mentor student staff that serve the daily needs of students.
• Provide support services and opportunities for student organizations to grow and develop.
• Use technology to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
• Maintain database of all active student organizations, including co-curricular activities and community service.
• Assist in preparing annual program budgets including recommendations and justifications regarding budget requests.
• Represent the Center for Student Engagement in collaboration with other campus departments, programs, as needed.
• Advise IFC and/or CPC councils in relation to programming, risk management, judicial affairs, construction and by-law adherence, parliamentary procedure, and budget management.
• Advise the Order of Omega - Theta Zeta chapter and encourage cross-council collaboration through its membership and activities.
• Conduct weekly meetings with IFC and/or CPC council to review council business.
• Oversee the IFC and/or CPC council officer election and training process.
• Promote partnerships across the Greek councils to enhance campus programming and cross-collaboration.
• Provide support and be a resource for student organizations.
• Coordinate oversight and advising for student leaders and general members of all fraternal student organizations to include initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating various educational, training, accountability and recognition programs in support of their leadership and organizational needs in conjunction with other members of the office.
• Disseminate and interpret University policies and procedures as they pertain to fraternities, sororities, student organizations, and activities
• Review and approve student organization and FSL events in line with university policy and risk management practices.
• Coordinate and support student-led events, campus-wide programs, and signature initiatives such as Welcome Weekend, I Heart UTM Week, and Greekfest.
• Foster faculty/staff engagement in student organization programming by building strong advising relationships.
• Provide hands-on support in setup, execution, and post-event evaluation for involvement-based programs.
• Assist in collecting and analyzing data related to student involvement, service, and program participation.
• Support institutional reporting by providing accurate records of events, community service, and student engagement outcomes.
• Help evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Contribute to division-wide initiatives and assist with special projects as needed.
• Represent Student Involvement on university or community committees.
• Provide emergency response or support when called upon.
