The Office of Housing at the University of Tennessee at Martin is currently accepting applications for a full-time custodian position. The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, (40 hours per week). This is a full-time position, and the selected candidate will be eligible for employee benefits.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions
Make routine decisions independently
Ability to work well with others
Ability to take direction and sustain long periods of light to moderately heavy physical activity
Typically requires a high school diploma or the equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of custodial equipment, to include operation and safety
Knowledge in the use and safety of cleaning chemicals

Minimum hiring rate $14.00 per hour (Market Range 02) - Salary commensurate with education and experience
Performs a variety of custodial duties in support of residential apartments, to create a clean and safe environment for students
Clean bathroom fixtures, toilets/urinals, sinks, mirrors, floors and partitions
Clean windowsills, stairwells, handrails, dust baseboards, knock down cobwebs
Sweep, dust mop, wet mop, scrub/buff floors
Change light bulbs as needed
Strip and wax floors/extract carpets as needed
Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools as needed
Report any safety concerns to his/her immediate supervisor
Complete work orders
Maintain sufficient custodial supplies for the assigned areas(s)
Assist in the preparation and clean up for housing guests such as camp and conference attendees
Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the scope and intent of the position
