Job Description

The Office of Information Technology Services at the University of Tennessee at Martin is accepting applications for an IT Administrator II. This position helps maintain baseline applications in support of the university’s student information system (Ellucian Banner), develops and maintains custom applications, helps integrate and maintain third party applications, assists with the installation and maintenance of Oracle databases and the maintenance of Ellucian Banner. This position requires frequent interaction with university offices, faculty and staff from across UTM’s campus.

Responsibilities

• Perform development tasks supporting the Banner student information system and other campus management information systems
• Consult with customers on application requirements, business process improvements, and use of applications
• Assist in the the testing and post upgrade processes for upgrades and patches
• Assist with the design, development, testing, documentation, and support of database applications that provide business workflows, transactional maintenance, and data integration with third party applications
• Assist the development of custom reporting and analytics
• Configure, test, and support third party product modules
• Interface with third party product support resources to resolve problems when appropriate.
• Complete project management tasks as assigned by the Director of Application Development & Operations.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Professional programming experience;
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills;
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving experience;
• Ability to coordinate and perform multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deliverables;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Ability to think logically and critically;
• Ability to learn, be flexible to change, and be innovative;
• Ability to be creative and proactive yet disciplined, in order to prioritize workload;
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team;

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a higher education setting;
• Knowledge of SIS Systems (Ellucian Banner) and the overall student journey/experience;
• Experience with relational databases and an enterprise-level application using it;
• Ability to effectively read, program, and debug, in the following languages: C# (or equivalent), Oracle SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (including jQuery).;
• API/integration experience
• Ability to research and debug errors in programming code and in server or software configurations;
• Ability to easily navigate Windows Server and Linux operating systems;
• The ability to set priorities in a variety of technical domains;
