Job Description
Assistant Professor of Marketing: The University of Tennessee at Martin, College of Business and Global Affairs (CBGA), Department of Management, Marketing, and Information Systems is seeking applications for a tenure-track appointment in Marketing beginning August 1, 2026.
The University of Tennessee at Martin is a primary campus in the University of Tennessee System with a combined graduate and undergraduate enrollment of approximately 7,100 students. UT Martin College of Business and Global Affairs is accredited by AACSB. We seek candidates who demonstrate a similar commitment to high quality undergraduate education and scholarly activity.
Responsibilities
This is a nine-month position requiring faculty to teach three courses each semester while maintaining an active research and service agenda. An ideal candidate should be motivated and able to teach a variety of marketing courses typical of a 4-year AACSB accredited program. The faculty member will teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and across multiple formats (face to face as well as online). Courses may include principles of marketing, consumer behavior, tools and technologies in marketing, and/or social media marketing. Additionally, summer teaching opportunities may be available for extra compensation.
Responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development, advising, assessment activities, university service, and scholarly activity. Effective pedagogic and communication skills are required.
Qualifications
The position is open to applicants who are either doctoral qualified or ABD in Marketing from an AACSB-accredited institution. Candidates who are ABD in Marketing may apply for the position but must submit a letter from their dissertation chair to include the topic of the dissertation, candidate’s progress towards the degree, as well as an anticipated date of completion of degree requirements.

• a cover letter addressing your interest in applying for the position, and ways you might contribute to the department and university’s core commitment to undergraduate teaching and research,
• a statement on your teaching philosophy to include (if applicable) courses previously taught, as well as any innovative or unique teaching methods,
• a statement of research goals
• a current curriculum vitae,
• unofficial undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and
• the contact information for three references (at least one of whom can assess the applicant’s teaching abilities) who can be contacted by email to submit confidential letters of recommendation
• If ABD, a letter from their dissertation chair to include the topic of the dissertation, candidate’s progress towards the degree, as well as an anticipated date of completion of degree requirements.
Complete applications received by October 31, 2025 will receive full consideration. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
