Job Description
The Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions serves as the primary point of contact for Transfer, Readmission Transfer, and Post-Baccalaureate students during the recruitment and admission process.
Responsibilities
- Assists the planning and implementation of the transfer recruitment process with oversight from the Director of Admissions
- Represents UTC at college fairs throughout the region that may require extensive travel (including overnight and potentially weekends)
- Represents UTC at workplace fairs throughout the region
- Performs private visits at community colleges in the region
- Schedules one on one meetings with potential students and families throughout the region
- Performs email/phone calling campaigns to potential students
- Participates in the transfer evaluation and decision-making process, including processing of AP/IB/CLEP prior learning credit
- Performs extensive use of the Banner system
- Works directly with Evaluation Counselor, Admissions Coordinator, Admissions Systems Business Analyst to prepare, distribute, and process daily work
- Collaborates with Veterans and Military Affairs office to enter Joint Service Transcripts
- Serves as the liaison between community colleges and students participating in the UTC Connect dual admission program
- Participates in specialized programs such as orientation, Power C tour, Blue & Gold Preview Day, etc.
- Provides training to transfer recruitment and processing staff members
- Participates in committees/groups to help reshape the recruitment and evaluation process through technology
- Performs auditing and error correction of transfer work
- Collaborates with other offices, including Registrar and OPEIR, to correct student files
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with excellent public speaking skills
- Familiarity with community college system
- Knowledge of admissions policies and academic degree offerings
- Prior knowledge/experience with the transfer recruitment and/or transfer evaluation process
- Prior Banner knowledge and experience
- Ability to handle multiple ongoing projects
- Ability to travel extensively, including long distances
- Ability to proficiently handle and transport multiple recruitment materials, some weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to set up and dismantle displays
- Ability to stand for extended periods during events
- Ability to problem solve and work independent of supervision both in and out of the office

Qualifications
Minimum: Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; four years of experience in student recruitment and admissions; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred: A master’s degree; five years of experience in student recruitment and admissions; and experience working with transfer students and dual admissions policies is preferred.
