This role creates a welcoming and educational experience for Dolly Parton Experience (DPE) Guests by providing information that supports self-guided tours. DPE Hosts focus on positive Guest interactions, answering questions and maintaining an enthusiastic demeanor. They also assist with cleaning and sanitizing high-touch areas throughout DPE attractions, such as Dolly’s Home on Wheels, Tennessee Mountain Home, and future experiences added to the DPE. Ideal candidates demonstrate Dollywood's Lead with Love values through patience, kindness, trust, selflessness, honesty, forgiveness, dedication, and accountability.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Greet Guests, accurately count attendance, and monitor queue lines as needed
  • Sanitize all high touch points in and around the DPE on a pre-determined schedule
  • Verbally communicate and enforce DPE entrance rules
  • Assist Guests with information about various areas of the DPE
  • Operate system controls to properly power exhibits on and off
  • Keep the DPE, Dolly’s Home on Wheels and Tennessee Mountain Home clean throughout the day, including dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning glass as needed
  • Maintain entertainment signage as needed
  • Assist with keeping break rooms, storage areas, and supply closets clean and organized
  • Complete daily reports and Guest surveys
  • Assist with special DPE functions and assignments as needed
  • Provide accurate park information to Guests through participation and implementation of continued education
  • Maintain strict confidentiality, with regard to communication and all information, about Dolly Parton's personal or professional life, her public and non-public visits to Dollywood and her public and private dealings with Dollywood and/or HFE between any and all parties outside of this position’s reporting structure.

Education and Experience Required

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic computer experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator – consistent and detailed
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles according to company policy. Must have valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance and acceptable motor vehicle driving record
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of background screening which includes criminal history and motor vehicle record check

    • Able and willing to work shifts up to 12 hours
    • Must wear costume as outlined by Entertainment team
    • Able and willing to accurately count
    • Must have dexterity to handle tickets/counters
    • Able and willing to be productive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Able and willing to prioritize tasks and complete assignments on time
    • Able and willing to work with and tolerate detergents and chemicals utilized in the area
    • Able and willing to tolerate noise at high levels
    • Able and willing to wear all PPE as required
    • Able and willing to handle a high volume of Guests at DPE without creating unnecessary/unproductive stress in the workplace
    • Able and willing to use self-reflection to be accountable as a member of a world-class team
    • Must be comfortable with public speaking to a large crowd during an emergency situation
    • Must be able and willing to periodically scan the venue to ensure the safety of our Guests

    Physical and Cognitive Requirements

    • Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting
    • Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours. Employees may also be required to travel to various areas on property which may include changes in terrain, stairs and uneven surfaces
    • Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions
    • Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat. Employees may be required to work indoors and outdoors
    • Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved methods
    • Able and willing to bend at the waist and knees multiple times throughout a shift
    • Able and willing to climb stairs
