The Laundry Driver/Attendant ensures that all Housekeeping and Food & Beverage Linens are processed and transported between the laundry facility and the Resorts in a timely manner meeting the expectations and standards while minimizing as much discarded product as possible. This position also attends to the cleaning process of hotel linens to ensure guests and hosts experience a clean hotel. This is to be done all in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and operating philosophies of The Dollywood Company.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Safely operates commercial washers, dryers and folding machines
  • Monitors feeder information on washers, make sure all drums are full, and report any irregularities to immediate supervisor. Set the proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen
  • Operates the folders and other laundry equipment in accordance with the product specifications
  • Cleans up machines and surrounding areas as necessary per shift
  • Complies with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
  • Ensures efficient drop-off and pick-up of linen at the hotels
  • Loads and unloads linen to / from truck to resort and laundry facility
  • Ensures support is provided to the laundry function when required
  • Reports on maintenance and hazard issues
  • Complies with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • Adheres to safety and sanitization regulations as instructed by OSHA and The Dollywood Company
  • Operates vehicles/work each position as needed in all weather conditions
  • Inspects safety equipment prior to use
  • Keeps areas/vehicle clean at all times
  • Works flexible hours and in different areas when needed

Education and Experience Required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six to twelve months of previous commercial laundry experience preferred
  • Must be able to drive all motor vehicles used in operations (Box-truck). Prior experience driving a large box truck is preferred
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles according to company policy. Must have valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance and acceptable motor vehicle driving record
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of background screening which includes criminal history and motor vehicle record check

  • Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties

Physical Requirements | Environmental Conditions

  • Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting
  • Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours
  • Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions
  • Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat
  • Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved communication methods
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Able to sit and/or stand for long/short periods
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch on a regular basis
  • Must be able to stand in workstation for up to 7 hours per shift
