This role exists to perform tasks that require physical labor on construction sites and to assist construction craft workers, such as electricians, plumbers, Welders, HVAC technicians and carpenters, with a variety of basic tasks.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Construct, modify, and repair structural systems comprised of, but not limited to, framing, sheathing, roofing, exterior siding, and basic mensuration skills as they pertain to carpentry work
  • Assist with tasks that pertain to electrical, plumbing, Mechanical, HVAC & Carpentry trades
  • Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications
  • Load or unload building materials to be used in construction
  • Operate or tend equipment and machines used in construction
  • Follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
  • Identify and use basic construction materials
  • Clean and prepare project sites by removing debris and possible hazards
  • Complete duties in compliance with local and state laws and OSHA regulations

Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Experience that demonstrates successful execution of similar duties and responsibilities in a commercial/industrial environment
  • At least 6 months of experience in the construction trade required
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles according to company
  • Must have valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance and acceptable motor vehicle driving record

  • Must be sensitive to the needs of our Guests and feel empowered to act to meet their needs within company guidelines
  • Must be able to utilize effective communication, problem solving, conflict management and interpersonal skills
  • Able to perform duties consistent with creating a safe and secure environment for hosts and guests
  • Able to be flexible to handle frequent changes in priorities
  • Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver projects
  • Must function independently with limited supervision and guidance
  • Must be very well organized with a high attention to detail
  • Must be able to analyze and remember information
  • Able to work at heights up to and in excess of 150ft.
  • Able to work in confined spaces
  • Able to operate/drive a motor vehicle
  • Able to tolerate approved exposure levels to various chemicals found in cleaning solvents, adhesives, paints, and lubricants
  • Able to use hand tools, power tools and equipment such as air compressor, skill saw, electric drill, impact wrench, hand wrenches, shovel, etc.

Physical Requirements | Working Conditions

  • Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting
  • Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours
  • Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions
  • Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat
  • Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved communication methods.
