The IT Measurement Technician utilizes Matterport software and related equipment to photograph Tennessee Aquarium facilities and generate floorplans and heat maps from the building scans. This position supports an organizational technology project by collecting facility measurements and documentation used for mapping and analysis activities. This is a temporary position expected to continue through January 31, 2027.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Utilize Matterport software and equipment to photograph and scan both guest-facing and behind the scenes areas throughout the Tennessee Aquarium’s facilities.
• Submit Matterport scans for processing and floor plan creation.
• Use the Ekahau program to create Wi-Fi heatmaps of Tennessee Aquarium-supported facilities utilizing Matterport scan data.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information encountered while performing assigned duties.
• Communicate project updates, progress, and challenges to the IT Project Manager as needed.
• Complete all required organizational and departmental training programs and attend company-wide meetings.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and collaborate with other departments as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
• Proficiency using a laptop in a Windows environment.
• Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, Matterport software and related scanning equipment.
• Basic software and hardware troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as a member of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Educational/Experience Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in a related field a plus.
• Experience with Matterport and Ekahau software a plus.
Working Conditions
• Work performed primarily in a climate-controlled environment.
• Requires travel between Aquarium facilities and IT customer facilities within the metropolitan area and may involve limited driving.
• Due to the nature of the project, a significant portion of work must be performed outside of normal guest visitation hours, generally before 10:00 AM or after 6:00 PM, depending on the facility schedule and events.

Physical Demands

• Requires ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2+ hours).
• Requires ability to push, handle, move, and lift objects weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, bend, photograph, adjust, and/or install equipment as needed.

Seasonal/temporary, hourly ($20/hour, October – January); Flexible schedule, approx.. 3-month assignment. Significant portion of work performed outside of normal guest visitation hours, generally before 10:00 AM or after 6:00 PM, depending on the facility schedule and events.

Internal Applicants: This position is not eligible for concurrent employment with another Tennessee Aquarium position.
