The Tennessee Aquarium, rated the best Aquarium in America for overall guest satisfaction, attracts over 750,000 visitors each year. The Events Bartender is responsible for providing excellent customer service and bartending services during evening and weekend events. Bartenders must have proven bartending skills and must be able to work at least one event per month.

Key Responsibilities
1. Serve customers of age mixed drinks, beer, and wine offerings while maintaining a clean work environment.
2. Navigate multiple elevators and floors within the building, guests still actively touring, and other unique building factors during setup.
3. Follow alcohol awareness protocol for preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests.
4. Understanding and ability to follow bar policy towards tipping policies, setup, services, and breakdown provided by the Manager on Duty for the event.
5. Ability to work with other bartenders as assigned. Clients will sometimes request multiple bartenders per bar to help with efficiency and flow of the event.
6. Execute host bars, cash bars, and ticketed bars, accurately tallying drinks orders, processing payments via cash/card when needed, and maintaining responsibility for assigned cash till.
7. Adhere to company standards in cashiering and money handling procedures.
8. Actively engage and communicate with guests, staff, and management.
9. Ensure total guest satisfaction within Evening Event operations.
10. Handle guest problems/complaints effectively, keeping immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed.
11. Assist management with essential department functions as needed, including event setup and breakdown.
12. Transition between job functions seamlessly, accurately, and quickly.
13. Work with outside services to ensure Aquarium guidelines, quality standards, and recycling efforts are upheld.
14. Understanding of the Aquarium campus and the building layouts within it.

Part-time, hourly ($16/hour); Mostly evening and weekend work, shifts can range from 1-2 events per month to 1-2 events per week, depending on the number of contracted events.
Employees are required to offer availability for at least one event per month to maintain employment status with the Tennessee Aquarium Facility Rental Department.
