Nashville Predators Job Description

Job Title: Community Relations Manager

Department: Marketing & Communications

Job Reports To: Director of Community Relations
Status: Exempt

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

Foundation:

  • Plan & execute Preds Foundation Wine Festival (March/April)
  • Plan & execute Preds Foundation Bowling Tournament (December/January)
  • Plan & execute Preds Foundation Fishing Tournament (September)
  • Assist with management of Foundation events, including GnashVegas, Petey’s Party, Golf Tournament, Clay Shoot, Pickleball Tournament, Golden Hall, Forsberg Clinic, Hockey for Her, Beer Fest and other events as they arise
  • Plan and execute annual KABOOM! playground build
  • Manage social media accounts for Preds Foundation (X, Instagram, Facebook)
  • Develop content for Preds Foundation & Community Relations events for website, Preds Press, and social media accounts
  • Manage Monthly Foundation newsletter
  • Create and develop annual report for Foundation/CR – July to June
  • Manage the DEX Score & Win program
  • Coordinate and manage all in-arena game night silent auctions (3 preseason, 41 regular season and all playoff games)
  • Manage the Jack Diller Education Award & Terry Crisp Scholarship program
  • Oversee Foundation scoreboard messages, Zamboni rides and Penalty Box visits
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with local charities, including attending charitable events as a Foundation representative.
  • Assist with all Predators Foundation board meetings (four per year) and keep meeting minutes
  • Assist with Predators Foundation grant process
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Community Relations and Vice President of Community Relations

Community Relations:

  • Oversee hiring and day to day coordination of CR intern group
  • Coordinate holiday outreach programs and events
  • Manage all team autograph sessions and inventory
  • Assist with GNASH, player and alumni appearances and interaction with charitable community
  • Develop new cause related initiatives
  • Oversee processing of all donation requests
  • Assist with Hockey Fights Cancer Nights
  • Assist with CR Day and Thanksgiving outreach
  • Oversee coordination of summer programming including Kids on Ice, staff volunteer projects and involvement in charity events
  • General administration including general CR inquiries, mail distributions, Fedex mailings, coordination of meetings, deliveries, copies, etc.
  • Provide support to Director of Community Relations & Vice President of Community Relations

Minimum Requirements:

  • College degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Sports Administration or related field
  • 3-5 years of related work experience, preferably with a Pro sports franchise
  • Active volunteer within the community (current and past)
  • Proactive and able to work well under pressure
  • Detailed oriented with strong follow-up skills
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and load/unload merchandise
  • Strong interpersonal skills, creativity, innovation and flexibility required
  • Team player
  • High ethical standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to follow instruction
  • Proficient in all Microsoft programs
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and some holidays.
  • As a condition of employment, qualified applicant will be subject to a background check, including a criminal history check, driver history and character references.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by the organization’s insurance carrier.

Essential Physical Functions:

  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and load/unload merchandise.
  • Ability to lift and transport moderate size boxes (15-30 lbs.) and move equipment and supplies throughout the arena.
  • Excellent speaking and listening skills, requiring the perception of speech.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Equipment Used:

  • General Office Equipment (i.e. PC, copier, facsimile machine, etc…)
  • Credit Card Machine
