Position Overview:
The Manager of Business Strategy & Analytics will be a key executor in the overall business supporting the Organization’s NHL, Arena, and Sabertooth Sports & Entertainment business units.
The role will support the overall strategy, analysis, and reporting capabilities of the Organization with a concentration in revenue-generating objectives to increase efficiencies and communicate insights in the areas of ticket sales, corporate partnerships, premium sales, marketing, arena business, and finance by directly managing our reporting portfolio, data warehouse as well as supporting our CRM System and general commercial research.
In addition, this role will assist in developing and driving a data strategy surrounding sales & marketing campaigns, CRM adoption, venue booking economics, and commercial insights & research. The ideal candidate will have expertise in working with relational databases, be highly proficient in SQL and Tableau, helping support the management of CRM systems, and demonstrate the ability to think strategically and collaborate well amongst departments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily management and enhancement of key data infrastructure, with a focus in expanding upon and enhancing the reporting portfolio and data warehouse development.
- Drive the development, preparation, and distribution of the organization’s enterprise-wide reporting portfolio.
- Help define strategy and roadmap for our CRM, data warehouse and relevant data vendors.
- Lead execution and accuracy of CRM system inputs and reporting, lead distribution and customer identification.
- Lead, build, and manage dashboard strategy and operations to support overall business operations and provide clear insight into historical, current, and projected performance.
- Represent the Business Strategy & Analytics department in internal and external meetings in a positive and active manner.
- Collaborate with departments to identify reporting & analysis needs to develop solutions, including dashboards and other reporting & analysis outputs, which provide real-time performance tracking to ranging levels of organizational leadership and stakeholders.
- Support the development of the department at large including leadership of staff, recruitment, and supporting the building out of the Business Strategy department as an ‘internal agency’ supporting across the organization.
- Develop skillsets of direct reports by exposing them to advanced research, technical abilities, methodologies, and reporting methods, leadership skills and overall business prowess.
- Design and conduct market and customer research and other in-depth studies to uncover key insights and influence organizational strategies and decision-making.
- Collaborate across departments to develop, communicate, and execute on best practices in data gathering and use.
- Develop and support complex analytical processes and procedures to identify risks, find and execute on solutions, and uncover opportunities throughout the business.
- Lead in the development and build-out of marketing automation capabilities and strategy
- Support adoption and training of CRM across the organization.
- Manage key vendor relationships as it relates to analytics tools and operations.
- Enhance our fan data strategy through fan profiling, segmentation, and lead scoring.
- Work across departments to develop and communicate best practices in data gathering and use.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of internal and external reporting across the organization.
- Ensure data integrity across all systems.
- Deliver ad-hoc projects, analysis, and other duties as assigned.
- Participate in special projects or other related duties as requested.
- Keep up to date on industry trends as they relate to technology and strategy.
Minimum Requirements:
We are looking for an organized self-starter who can work well across departments. You could be a potential match for this role if you have a strong mix of the following:
- Bachelor's degree with a consistent track record of professional and personal achievement. Preferred degree concentration: business analytics, finance, information systems, statistics, or economics.
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in a professional sports team environment supporting data warehousing, dashboard and reporting, audience identification, segmentation and CRM system operations.
- Must be able to identify problems, their sources, and execute on or delegate their potential solutions to team members while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption.
- Strong business acumen and application of data and insights to business strategy
- Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong Experience in SQL, as well as familiarity with one of either R, Python, or another open source and an expertise with relational databases and data warehouses
- Expertise with CRM administration and email marketing systems, preferably with experience in Microsoft Dynamics CRM
- Experience/expertise in a consumer marketing automation platform (ie. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Eloqua, etc.)
- Expertise in a visualization tool (Tableau Preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with strong critical thinking and attention to detail

- Possess a valid driver’s license, a suitable driving history, be insurable by Nashville Predators’ insurance carrier and have reliable transportation.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Required to work long hours on event days.
- Ability to clearly communicate with clients and coworkers.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand in an upright position for continuous period of time.
- Excellent speaking and listening skills, requiring the perception of speech.
- Walking, bending, carrying of light items such office supplies will be required.
