Position Overview

PURE Academy is a college-preparatory private school, which provides a personalized learning environment. Academics, social-emotional learning, and athletics are interwoven in a collaborative approach to give each student the necessary tools to become a successful college student, and productive member of our community.

The Residential Facilitator (RF) will provide high quality evening or weekend enrichment programming to develop and upskill PURE youth. The RF will facilitate activities and/or coordinate meaningful guest presenters with special skills aligned with the youth’s interest. Additionally, the RF will be a positive, reliable and dedicated presence, preparing the youth to be dynamic and honorable young men.

Salary Range: $20.00/ hour

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Understanding of the principles and practice of youth development
Understanding of challenges young people can experience in Memphis and Shelby county
Knowledge of de-escalation skills
Knowledge of prosocial skill development
Understanding of trauma-informed care
Able to move fluidly with the variability of a small residential school environment
Exemplify a belief that consistently supporting youth can make a difference
Demonstrate a commitment to community and servant leadership
Strong organizational skills; extremely careful attention to detail and follow-through
Exhibit a Growth Mindset – able to receive and implement feedback
Exceptional ability to bridge and enhance cooperative working relationships
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
Flexible and able to work autonomously, as well as take direction as needed

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate in a strong team environment to:

Facilitate and/or coordinate evening enrichment activities including study hall, online course participation, chess, martial arts, coding, board games, arts & crafts, etc.
Be an active participant with youth in evening enrichment activities
Facilitate daily group discussions sessions based on relevant topics leading to self-discovery and maturity
Create monthly evening enrichment calendar
Create pre/post-activity surveys to capture youth feedback
Be a positive, cooperative, and constructive member of the PURE team

OTHER DUTIES

Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the CEO

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school Diploma or Equivalency
Experience in youth development, specifically in an urban context
Clean driving record
