***AngelStreet is an organization that is founded on Christian principles. Our primary programming focuses on musical training, mentoring, and leadership development. All mentoring and spiritual growth opportunities are based on the Christian faith and we are often invited to perform during worship services and at Christian events. We welcome all young ladies to audition to perform in our program, regardless of religious affiliation.
CHOIR DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION (PART-TIME)
The Choir Director is a part-time member of the program team (approximately 30 hours per week), responsible for teaching and demonstrating pitch, tempo, rhythm, harmony, warm ups/scales and other concepts that are fundamental to singing. This individual instructs participants in music applications, both theory and practice, while providing and encouraging active student participation in a wide variety of musical genres and musical events. This role includes traveling to teach AngelStreet’s in-school choir twice a week, leading after-school choir programming, and supporting the Music Director across programming, including summer.

2. Possess teaching experience in music discipline for which they are being considered
3. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Support the vision and mission statement of AngelStreet
2. Assist in building and maintaining a healthy, creative space for participants that brings about positive change
3. Travel to and teach AngelStreet’s in-school choir program twice per week
4. Teach after-school choir rehearsals
5. Create and maintain AngelStreet’s music curriculum
6. Lead and coordinate rehearsals and performances
7. Assist Ensemble Instructor with AngelStreet Crew U program (specifically for advanced Middle and High School students)
8. Evaluate participant performance, provide feedback and assistance to improve their musical skills
9. Establish and maintain open communication with the teaching team, participants and parents
10. Assist with music arranging and songwriting
11. Attend workshops, training courses and professional development seminars to maintain professional competence
12. Attend weekly staff meeting
13. Attend weekly music team meetings as well as annual staff retreats and planning sessions
14. Assist in keeping facilities in proper order, with music equipment being properly used, maintained and stored
15. Arrive on-site between 2:00–3:00 PM on scheduled program days to prepare for after-school programming, occasionally assisting with school pick-ups
16. Remain on-site through the end of after-school programming (6:30 PM) each scheduled evening
17. Complete remote office hours as scheduled within weekly work hours
18. Attend choir performances and occasionally smaller ensemble performances; some performances may fall on holidays or weekends
19. Support summer programming
20. Flexibility to work on weekends
21. Assist Music Director in additional duties/responsibilities surrounding the music department

2. Prolonged standing during rehearsals/performances
3. Frequently requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects/materials
4. Requires travel between AngelStreet’s program site and in-school choir locations, as well as for out-of-town studio sessions/performances
POSITION TYPE & SCHEDULE
1. Part-time, approximately 30 hours per week
2. In-school choir instruction: two days per week
3. On-site arrival between 2:00–3:00 PM on scheduled program days to prep for after-school programming (occasionally including school pick-ups)
4. After-school choir programming runs 4:30–6:30 PM
5. Must remain on-site until 6:30 PM each scheduled evening
6. One weekly staff meeting required
7. Remote office hours included as part of the weekly 30-hour schedule
8. Weekend and occasional holiday availability required for performances
9. Additional support required during summer programming
