Summary

We are seeking a LMT/Licensed Massage Therapist to join our team at Jasper Float Spa & Wellness Center. In this role, the LMT provides high-quality therapeutic and relaxation massage services tailored to each client’s needs while delivering an exceptional spa experience. This role requires strong communication and technical skills, professionalism, and a client-centered approach. The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, and committed to maintaining licensure standards and spa service excellence. We value long-term relationships with our therapists and begin with a 90-day introductory period to ensure a great fit for both the therapist and the spa. This position begins as a part-time independent contractor (1099). Following successful completion of this introductory period, the role is expected to transition to a W-2 employee position for the right candidate– based on performance, availability, and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Perform customized massage services (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, sports, hot stone, lymphatic drainage– based on training and licensure)
Conduct thorough client consultations to assess needs, discuss treatment plans, and ensure client comfort
Develop personalized treatment plans based on client assessments and goals
Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including treatment notes and progress updates
Uphold all state licensing requirements, health regulations, and spa policies
Prepare treatment rooms before and after each service, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation
Educate clients on service benefits, aftercare, and wellness recommendations
Promote spa services, enhancements, and retail products in a professional manner
Maintain a calm, respectful, and professional demeanor at all times
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
Manage your own schedule and appointments
Collaborate with front desk and spa team to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Current, active state massage therapy license
Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program
Professional liability insurance
A minimum of one (1) year of professional experience performing massages in a spa, wellness, or clinical setting is required
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and massage techniques
Training in multiple massage modalities (e.g., deep tissue, prenatal, sports, hot stone)
Experience building and retaining a client base
Familiarity with spa booking systems and charting/documentation
Professional appearance and demeanor and ethical practice
Excellent communication and client care skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Ability to create a relaxing and therapeutic environment
Physical ability to perform massage services for extended periods
