THE JOB
The Safety and Security Manager is responsible for overseeing the security and safety of assigned C3 Presents festivals and events. Key duties include developing and implementing security protocols, managing security staff (including hiring and training), ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and responding to incidents. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with the ability to handle the physical demands of a live events environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure all assigned events comply with C3 security policies, Live Nation security standards, and all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations
Plan, direct, and coordinate safety and security activities to ensure event, venue, employee, and guest safety
Coordinate security for assigned events. Develop and/or review staffing deployments, ensuring staffing levels are sufficient and financially feasible.
Actively audit, or deploy auditing apparatus, to review deployments and ensure accuracy of staffing levels and billing.
Actively and continually advise Event Director and Safety and Security Director on financial projections related to safety and security initiatives
Lead creation and oversight of Event Safety Plans (ESP); Event Emergency Response Plan (ERP), Departmental Action Plans (DAP), Remote Workplace Emergency Action Plan (RWEAP), review Communication plans and components, and any other items as needed for the events assigned
Procure, budget, manage, and settle all safety and security agencies and asset providers including but not limited to staffing agencies, management agencies, canine, vehicle mitigation, and technology providers (CCTV, Incident reporting, , Magnetometers, access control, etc.) for events assigned
Oversee security and medical consultants for events assigned
Coordinate and partner with all relevant public safety agencies (Police, Fire, EMS, Emergency Management, State and Federal agencies, etc.) to ensure a seamless integration of public and private assets for events assigned
Attend and lead various meetings, creates agendas or assists with meeting preparation for event assigned
Collaborate with event departments on venue layout as it relates to site capacity, crowd flow/management, stage barricade, ingress and egress needs, and staffing deployments
Be available for all training, certification, etc. as required by Live Nation, C3 Presents, or the Director of Safety & Security.
Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience/credentials
Minimum of 8 years of safety and security management experience in festival, event, or venue environments
Proven experience in deployment planning and coordination across multiple events and jurisdictional agencies
Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills
Motivated self-starter who thrives in a deadline-driven environment with exceptional follow through skills
Outstanding organizational and project management skills and the ability to anticipate team needs
Personable, thick skinned, and have a professional appearance and demeanor
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage staff effectively
Skilled at collaborating with internal teams, industry partners, and local government officials
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personalities across all levels
Sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions
Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Strong ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines under pressure
Discreet and capable of maintaining confidentiality
Proficient in MS Office and related software; strong computer and database management skills
Willingness and ability to travel frequently
Flexibility in work hours and availability, especially during festivals and major projects
