POSITION SUMMARY: The Country Music Association is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and collaborative individual to join our Strategic Partnerships team. The Strategic Partnerships department is responsible for developing, fostering, and growing relationships with corporate America through the influence and opportunities CMA provides to elevate the Country Music genre and industry. This role reports directly to the Senior Account Manager in the Strategic Partnerships department and serves all facets of CMA’s business, including its corporate brand partnerships, live events, marketing efforts, philanthropic initiatives, membership, and industry honors.
The Account Manager will be responsible for project managing multi-year campaigns and live event activations sold by the Strategic Partnerships team for CMA Fest, CMA Awards, and other CMA events & initiatives. This role will be an essential part of the team, working alongside their sales lead from the first discovery meeting through program execution to super-serve CMA’s brand clients. Once a deal closes, the Account Manager handles all aspects of the partnership through event execution, leads the partnership recap, and participates in the sponsorship renewal.
This position is based in Nashville, TN and requires in-person work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as counterpart to Sales lead throughout the selling process, attending meetings, taking thoughtful notes, assisting with pitches, and offering feedback on ideas.
- Lead flawless execution of assigned partnership deals, ensuring fulfillment of all contracted deliverables including marketing assets, on-site activations, hospitality, and more.
- Work alongside Sales lead and Business Affairs to finalize deal points, leading the contract to execution.
- Liaise with CMA internal departments and/or third-party partners on partner deliverables, including Marketing, Live Events, Ticketing, and others.
- Prepare and maintain key account service materials including agendas, recaps and timelines, to support effective account management.
- Manage workflows and project trackers, routing and tracking assets and deadlines, both internally & externally.
- Anticipate issues, intercept, and troubleshoot.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key account representatives and contribute to the department’s stewardship plan to foster those relationships.
- Identify upsell opportunities.
- Develop and service partnership recaps and contribute to the renewal strategy.
- Research and monitor trends across music, brand and experiential industries, translating insights into creative ideas and opportunities for CMA brand partners.
- Update CRM and project management tools based on account activity.
- In collaboration with Associate Director, manage expenses and billbacks of each assigned account.
- Contribute to process improvement, proactively identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and processes.
- Own or support special projects and initiatives that contribute to CMA and departmental goals, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of account management or project management experience required, preferably in marketing, brand partnerships, live events, or other area of music or entertainment.
- Experience managing and regularly engaging with key decision makers strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft product suite, Canva, CRM software, and project management software strongly preferred. CMA currently uses Microsoft Dynamics and Basecamp.
- Knowledge of music and live entertainment industry strongly preferred.
- BA/BS degree in a relative field or equivalent work experience required.
