Position Summary:
The Communications & Marketing Manager supports the planning and execution of the CMA Foundation's communications, marketing, and audience engagement efforts. This role manages day-to-day communications initiatives across digital platforms, campaigns, partnerships, and events to help advance the Foundation's mission, increase awareness, and strengthen engagement with key stakeholders. The position collaborates closely with Foundation leadership, CMA internal teams, and external partners to ensure communications are strategic, cohesive, and aligned with organizational priorities.
This position is based in Nashville, TN and requires in-person work.

Essential Functions:
- Support execution of the CMA Foundation's communications and marketing strategies in alignment with organizational priorities and goals (including hitting specified KPIs as outlined in individual goals)
- Develop and maintain editorial calendars and project timelines across social media, email communications, website content, campaigns, and events
- Create, coordinate, and distribute content that highlights the Foundation's mission, programs, partnerships, and impact stories (including but not limited to graphics, photo/video, copywriting)
- Manage the organization and maintenance of the Foundation's digital asset library, ensuring content is accessible, current, and aligned with brand standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop impact storytelling that communicates the Foundation's mission, programs, and outcomes through audience-specific narratives informed by program data, testimonials, and stakeholder experiences.
- Manage day-to-day execution of Foundation-owned digital channels, including social media platforms, paid social campaigns, website content, YouTube account, and email communications
- Monitor audience engagement, campaign performance, and digital analytics, providing recommendations to improve effectiveness and reach
- Coordinate development of marketing and communications assets, including presentations, collateral materials, social content, photography, video support, and event-related materials
- Ensure consistency in brand voice, messaging, and visual standards across Foundation communications and materials
- Serve as the primary Foundation liaison with CMA Marketing, Creative, Digital, and Web teams regarding communications initiatives and content needs
- Coordinate communications support surrounding Foundation programs and events, including Music Teachers of Excellence, CMA Fest, CMA Awards, and other initiatives
- Coordinate media relations efforts in partnership with public relations consultants and CMA Communications, including press materials, announcements, media opportunities, and spokesperson support.
- Support donor stewardship communications in partnership with Foundation leadership and development staff, including impact reports, presentations, campaign materials, donor pdates, and fundraising communications.
- Support artist, partner, and stakeholder engagement opportunities through content development, storytelling, and communications coordination
- Manage relationships and workflows with external vendors and consultants, including photographers, videographers, designers, agencies, and public relations partners
- Develop project briefs, coordinate approvals, and manage timelines to ensure successful execution of communications initiatives
- Prepare campaign recaps, performance reports, and recommendations to inform future communications efforts
- Support preparation of board presentations, reports, and communications materials that highlight Foundation initiatives, impact, and organizational priorities.
- Lead coordination of annual impact reports and other strategic publications that communicate organizational outcomes, financial stewardship, and mission advancement.
- Research emerging communications trends, digital best practices, and technology solutions to identify opportunities for innovation and operational efficiency, including appropriate use of AI-supported tools
- Coordinate closely with internal teams to support organizational priorities, leadership communications, board materials, and stakeholder engagement efforts
- Support CMA and CMA Foundation programs and events as needed, including on-site communications, content capture, and event support
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BS or BA in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, digital media, content development, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
- Experience managing social media platforms, digital campaigns, and content calendars
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders and external partners
- Demonstrated experience with content management systems, email marketing platforms, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and social publishing tools preferred
- Experience within nonprofit, entertainment, music industry, or mission-driven organizations preferred
- Interest in emerging technologies and AI tools that support communications effectiveness and operational efficiencies
