Job Summary
The Team Leader role is a hands-on leadership position designed to recognize high-performing individuals and empower them to lead by example. This role plays a critical part in driving departmental success by fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. While not responsible for formal disciplinary actions, the Team Leader is expected to demonstrate integrity, accountability, and strong leadership—serving as a link between team members and management.
Core Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Complete Checkpoint Inspection Sheets with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ensure all travelers and departmental documentation are properly signed and maintained.
- Direct team workflow and traffic to support efficient operations and productivity.
- Ensure consistent adherence to departmental AOC’s (Absolutes of Craftsmanship).
Leadership by Example
- Model excellence in these four core areas: Safety, Attitude, Quality, and Housekeeping.
- Maintain a balance between productivity and the four core areas listed above.
- Step in for the Area Coordinator when needed to ensure continuity of team operations.
Team Engagement & Communication
- Identify and address behaviors or practices that hinder team performance or culture.
- Communicate opportunities and concerns to the Area Coordinator promptly.
- Demonstrate courage and integrity when addressing misaligned behaviors.
- Build strong connections with team members to support engagement and morale.
- Communicate clearly and effectively across departments and with leadership.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Proficient in at least 75% of tasks within the assigned area.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example and influence others positively.
- Willingness to learn, grow, and support team development.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to adapt to different departmental needs and shift schedules.
