Job Summary:
Blue Highway Records is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team. Reporting directly to the VP of Label Operations, they will serve as the core engine for our financial reporting, budget tracking, and operational analysis. This role will synthesize complex revenue streams—including streaming DSPs, physical distribution, sync licensing, and artist advances—into actionable financial reports that directly support executive decision-making.
Job Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Executive Packages: Compile, reconcile, and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting packages to the VP of Label Operations. Build clear summary dashboards highlighting net revenue, operating expenses, and EBIT across various business channels and their releases.
- Release & Campaign Budget Tracking: Partner with A&R and Marketing leads to monitor release-level budgets, tracking real-time recording costs, video budgets, and promotional spend against initial forecasts to prevent cost overruns.
- Annual Plan and Monthly Forecasting: Partnering with the VP of Operations and the business; drive the planning/re-forecast process by updating revenues based on release schedule changes, A&R, Marketing, and SG&A costs submitting to HBA corporate as per established deadlines.
- Deal Support: Assist Executive Leadership and Business Affairs in modeling artist signings, re-signings, and catalog acquisitions. The models will need to consider comparable artist’s revenue stream, A&R investments, and marketing spending ensuring projection accuracy and identifying breakeven, target IRR, and recoupment thresholds.
- Ad-Hoc Strategic Analysis: Support the VP of Label Operations with custom financial models, scenario planning (e.g., touring support viability, catalogue acquisition evaluation), and data-backed decks for executive presentations.

Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience as a financial analyst, ideally within the music industry, entertainment, media, or direct-to-consumer businesses.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, financial modeling, dynamic dashboards) and experience with data visualization tools (Tableau).
- Deep familiarity with music label economics.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong business acumen, and the ability to summarize complex financial metrics into simple operational takeaways.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position may oversee an intern each semester.
