Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and managing the preparation of financial reports. This role involves preparing general ledger activities and preparing balance sheet reconciliations to support our month-end and year-end close processes. The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining internal controls and ensuring proper documentation for our control environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide accounting support to multiple record label, publishing, and management companies under the Hybe family of companies
- Complete month-end close tasks as assigned including preparation of journal entries, analysis, and accruals
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to support audits and close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports
- Support accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, GAAP, IFRS, and Sarbanes-Oxley
- Provide necessary documentation/support and leverage accounting knowledge to support external and internal audits
- Collaborate and enhance partnerships between accounting and the other departments
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
- Escalating risks and issues as necessary to leadership

Experience:
- 1-2 years of professional work experience in accounting and/or finance, preferably in the music industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, etc.), and Microsoft Excel.
- Prior exposure to month-end close processes, journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliations
Skills:
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting
- Strong excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas required, macros are a plus)
- Ability to work with large datasets, reconcile differences, and identify errors effectively
- Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Proactive problem solver with continuous improvement mindset
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and effective team player
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
