The Program Assistant and Student Support position provides comprehensive administrative, student services, and operational support for the Watkins College of Art, serving as the primary point of contact for the college's main office. This position coordinates front-office operations, supports student advising, registration, orientation, and recruitment activities, as well as maintaining student records to ensure efficient delivery of academic services. The Program Assistant also recruits, hires and supervises student workers, coordinates routine facility requests in conjunction with the Studio Tech, and provides logistical support for college events and special projects while collaborating closely with the Assistant to the Dean Business Manager and college leadership. Student Services and Academic Support Serve as the primary point of contact for current students by providing information regarding academic programs, policies, and procedures. Coordinate advising events, the communications to faculty and students, and student sign-ups for appointments, process registration transactions, assign faculty advisors, process overrides and holds, maintain student records, and assist with orientation, recruitment, and graduation activities. Office Reception and Customer Service Manage the daily operations of the college's administrative office by greeting visitors, answering phones and email, responding to inquiries, maintaining office supplies, processing mail, and ensuring efficient office operations while providing excellent customer service to students and visitors. Student Worker Supervision Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise student workers. Assign daily work, monitor performance, approve time worked, and ensure adequate studio monitor coverage while maintaining efficient administrative operations. Records Management and Administrative Processing Maintain accurate student and departmental records, prepare correspondence and reports, process forms and documentation, manage electronic and paper filing systems, and ensure the confidentiality and integrity of academic and administrative records. College Events and Program Support Coordinate orientations and advising events, provide support for open houses, recruitment events, commencement, exhibitions, meetings, and other college-sponsored activities. Prepare materials, reserve spaces, coordinate schedules, and assist with event execution. Facilities and College Administrative Support Working in conjunction with the Studio Technician, coordinate routine facilities requests, maintenance and custodial services, equipment needs, and key requests. Provide administrative assistance for college special projects, committee work, data collection, and other departmental initiatives. Collaborate with the Assistant to the Dean and college leadership to support the efficient operation of the college. Perform other related duties as assigned.
