Job Description: Massey CDC Student Staff Positions Location: Massey Career Development Center (Barbara Massey Rogers Center Room 401) Hours: 10–15 hours per week (flexible around class schedule; in-person, on-site) within the hours of 9-4:30 Monday-Thursday Compensation: $10/hour Position Overview The Massey CDC Marketing and Events Assistants are paid student roles within the Massey College of Business Career Development Center designed to strengthen the undergraduate career experience. Assistants will serve as the welcoming face of the center, support major career events, and help promote resources, programs, and opportunities across campus. This role is ideal for students who enjoy helping others, communicating, organizing, and representing the Career Development Center in a positive, energetic way. Ideally there will be two open positions, one with a Marketing focus and one with an Events focus. Key Responsibilities for both: • Front Desk Support: greet visitors, answer questions, manage check-ins, and direct students to appropriate services • General Office Support: help with administrative tasks as assigned by Career Center staff • Peer Engagement: encourage students in your personal network and beyond to use career resources, schedule appointments, and explore opportunities • Annual Career Events: attend and support our annual career events according to your availability (Meet the Firms, the Business and Technology Career Expo, Massey Mixer, and Powerskills Conference, etc.) Marketing Focus: • Digital Marketing Design Assistance: create flyers and digital graphics for a variety of usages (Canva and PowerPoint experience preferred) • Branding: work with the team to ensure cohesive branding and design for our annual events • Marketing Management: this role will have some level of self-direction and responsibility where you will work within the boundaries of Belmont’s Brand Guidance to create graphics and make design choices from the ground up Hospitality Events Focus: • Event Operations: assist with planning, setup, and execution of annual events like Meet the Firms, Massey Mixer, the Business and Technology Career Expo, and Powerskills Conference, as well as additional on-site employer visits as needed • Planning Support: work with the team to coordinate the creation and printing of name tags, directories, and name tents with a high level of precision and detail orientation • Flexibility Adaptability: able to switch priorities quickly, work with teams, and manage change as needed due to the fast-paced nature of events Qualifications • Currently enrolled undergraduate student; Junior and Senior business majors preferred • Reliable, punctual attendance with consistent hours of availability week to week, including willingness to attend career events during and after normal business hours on occasion • High level of professionalism and positive attitude when representing the CDC to internal and external guests • Interest in career development, event planning, marketing, or student engagement • Willingness to learn new tools (Canva, Handshake, etc.) What You’ll Gain • Hands-on experience in event planning, marketing, customer service, and professional communication • A deeper understanding of career development tools and student engagement • Opportunities to engage with employers and alumni • Resume-enhancing skills and experience • Opportunities to showcase leadership ability within the team To Apply: Please include your resume and a brief cover letter or statement explaining which of the two positions you are most interested in and why.
