Job Summary:
The incumbent is expected to lead and supervise craft electrical and mechanical employees as well as provide technical troubleshooting skills to identify maintenance issues and develop solutions. He or she will also provide technical leadership and training to mechanical and electrical craft employees. The selected candidate may also lead a small team of production employees.
The successful candidate will have a strong maintenance background with verifiable, hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience within an industrial environment. Candidates with supervisory experience, hydraulics, and PLC troubleshooting knowledge are strongly desired. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the motivation to learn all mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, and manufacturing aspects of plant operations.
Tennessee Operations is located 3 hours North of Atlanta, GA; 2.5 hours East of Nashville, TN; and 4 hours West of Charlotte, NC. Arconic’s Tennessee Operations is one of the most modern aluminum fabricating facilities in the world. Our plants produce high-quality molten metal and aluminum sheet and are recognized as a world leader in the business. The facility has been located at the Foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains for 100 years and continues to thrive and grow.

You have: (required)
High School Diploma or GED
Strong maintenance background with 2 years of hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment.
1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience in operations.
Must be a current contractor working for Arconic in a similar role.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, safety regulations, and quality control.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using manufacturing software and Microsoft Office.
Experience in Aluminum rolling operations.
Associates or BS degree in a technical field
5+ years heavy industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
Knowledge of PLCs and hydraulic systems
Supervisory experience in a Union environment
Strong customer focus and collaboration skills, displays initiative, out-of-box thinking and strong attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
Work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment.
In this role, you will:
Supervising electrical craft, mechanical craft and production employees within the department, acting as a resource for maintenance guidance to craft and other manufacturing personnel.
Providing technical maintenance support for assigned areas.
Executing planned and unplanned work to meet department goals.
Coordinate repairs with customers to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
Following up on equipment issues and developing technical problem-solving solutions.
Providing on-call responses to remedy critical maintenance situations.
Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives of manufacturing methods, working hand in hand with craft employees.
Adhering to Arconic EH&S, quality, continuous improvement and other company policies.
Assuming other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required
