Job Summary:
The Production Crew Leader plays a key role in leading a team of manufacturing associates to meet daily production goals while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This position requires strong leadership, hands-on problem-solving, and the ability to foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
We are seeking a hands-on, people-focused operations leader to manage and optimize a complex operation. This role requires a strategic thinker who excels in empowering frontline teams, navigating manual workflows, and driving performance through leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of operational intricacies and a passion for developing people and processes in dynamic, high-touch environments.
Tennessee Operations is located 3 hours North of Atlanta, GA; 2.5 hours East of Nashville, TN; and 4 hours West of Charlotte, NC. Arconic’s Tennessee Operations is one of the most modern aluminum fabricating facilities in the world. Our plants produce high-quality molten metal and aluminum sheet and are recognized as a world leader in the business. The facility has been located at the Foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains for 100 years and continues to thrive and grow.
You have: (required)
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be a current contractor working for Arconic as a Production Crew Leader.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience in operations.
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, safety regulations, and quality control.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using manufacturing software and Microsoft Office.
Technical training or associate degree preferred.
Experience in Aluminum casting operations.
Strong problem solving and communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of the organization required.
Requires a progressive thinker who can initiate change.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
Work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment.
In this role, you will:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production crew members on the manufacturing floor.
- Lead daily shift meetings to review goals, recognize achievements, and address concerns.
- Ensure safety, quality, cost and production standards are met by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and adjusting workflows as needed.
- Promote and enforce safety standards and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Train and mentor new and existing team members on equipment operation, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct quality checks and ensure products meet specifications and compliance standards.
- Communicate effectively with maintenance and quality assurance to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
