Arconic's Tennessee Operations is seeking a talented Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer for our Tennessee Operations facility. The incumbents will provide engineering support to maintenance and operations across the facility. This includes troubleshooting equipment and process problems to root cause, providing engineered solutions to these problems, managing large equipment rebuilds, and development, justification, management and implementation of capital projects. The successful applicant will be expected to develop into the technical equipment expert for an area of the department and provide technical leadership for the equipment. This includes supporting restoration of flow during breakdowns, development of repair and rebuild procedures, development of proposals for equipment upgrades. This position also support the departments Quality, Safety and Environmental goals.

Tennessee Operations is located 3 hours North of Atlanta, GA; 2.5 hours East of Nashville, TN; and 4 hours West of Charlotte, NC. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college/university.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 months work experience with mechanical systems (Mechanical Drives, Gearing, Industrial Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Pumps/Piping, etc)
Minimum of 6 months experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles
Minimum of 6 months experience in product and process failure analysis
Minimum of 1 year of AutoCAD or similar CAD software experience.
Experience in justifying, managing and installation of capital projects
Experience designing, installing, troubleshooting and maintaining industrial hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Experience designing, fabricating and installing mechanical equipment
Working knowledge of lubrication and pumping systems
Strong mechanical engineering skills
Understanding of world class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, JIT, SPC, TQM, etc.
Strong maintenance background
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient problem solving and creative thinking skills
Ability to work with cross-functional teams

In this role, you will:
Provide engineering support to maintenance and operations across the department including restoring flow during breakdowns and developing preventative maintenance systems (including during the off shift)
Troubleshoot equipment and process problems to root cause, providing engineered solutions to these problems
Manage large equipment rebuilds – development, justification, management and implementation of these projects
Develop into the technical equipment expertise for the department and provide technical leadership
Support the department’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental goals
All other tasks and duties as assigned

This position is eligible for a relocation benefit. Travel in this role can be up to 10%. This position reports to the Engineering Superintendent.
