Arconic is currently in search of a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Rolled Products North America (RPNA) Manufacturing, Technology, and Engineering (MTE) Team, based out of Davenport, IA, Lancaster, PA or Alcoa, TN.

Job Summary:

How You Will Make an Impact:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be instrumental to the success of our operations, serving as a trusted technical leader partnering closely with plant leadership and engineering teams to guide high-impact and complex engineering projects and initiatives across Arconic’s rolling and finishing facilities (travel will vary but typically 30-50%). Your role will include providing technical leadership and hands-on expert level electrical engineering support delivering guidance, expert escalation support, and coordinated technical execution for capital projects, efficiency improvements, and rapid resolution of critical process and equipment issues with minimal production impact.

You’ll focus on a wide range of electrical engineering projects with strong emphasis on motors and drives. While prior experience with motors and drives is preferred, we are also open to highly capable Electrical Engineers with a solid background in industrial automation, process controls, PLCs, and related systems who are motivated to expand their skill set. Areas of Expertise:

  • Industrial and Process Automation

    • System Integration & Commissioning

    • AC/DC Motor operations, maintenance, testing, overhaul and rebuild.

    • Reliability analysis of motors, drives, and supporting electrical equipment.

    • Handson troubleshooting of motors, drives, and power circuits.

    • Medium and low voltage power systems, in partnership with established power engineers.

While this role is centered on motors and drives, you will also contribute to automation and power projects as part of a crossfunctional engineering team. Full expertise in automation and power is not required. However, familiarity with automation technologies and power, with a willingness to learn, develop, and broaden your capabilities is essential for success in this position.


As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be an integral team member of our Manufacturing, Technology, and Engineering (MTE) group, a team of technical experts and problem solvers dedicated to helping the organization solve complex technical challenges, implement solutions and lead initiatives that drive the continued success and competitiveness of our operations. Our MTE team leads initiatives across equipment reliability improvement, process improvement, equipment troubleshooting and upgrade support, automation and smart manufacturing, standard practice implementation, and major capital projects across multiple domestic and international manufacturing facilities.
You have: (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting and implementing industrial automation and process control systems, including PLC/HMI logic, instrumentation, and automated process sequencing.
  • Experience serving as a leader or technical stakeholder in capital and expense projects
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements.

Exceptional Candidates also have:

  • 10 years’ experience and working knowledge of electrical systems and manufacturing processes and principles in a metals or heavy industry.
  • Experience in medium voltage distribution and transformer maintenance and applications.
  • Experience with PLCs and Industrial Control Systems, HMI/SCADA, Networks, and Automation System Integration.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee capital projects at a program level, guiding justification, scope, electrical design quality, contractor strategy, and commissioning readiness to ensure long term asset reliability.

  • Champion improvements in process stability, equipment performance, maintenance strategy, and operational efficiency through advanced engineering methods and data‑driven reliability tools.

  • Serve as a technical resource, applying deep electrical engineering expertise and safety standards to support site engineers, ensure compliance, and drive best‑practice adoption.

  • Lead engineering execution across the network, providing expert oversight during design reviews, commissioning, installation, and troubleshooting to ensure consistent, high‑quality outcomes.

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering, maintenance and craft teams, elevating work quality, promoting safe practices, and strengthening electrical capability.

  • Coordinate and govern external engineering partners, setting expectations, validating deliverables, and ensuring OEM and vendor solutions meet Arconic’s technical and operational standards.

  • Use advanced electrical engineering and reliability expertise to improve uptime, strengthen asset health, and enhance the long‑term stability of site operations.

  • While this role with have global responsibility, the home location is preferred to be located at our location in Davenport, IA but Lancaster, PA and Alcoa, TN are alternative locations.
  • Travel will be required by the successful candidate (~30%)
