Job Summary:
The Electrical Technical Specialist will provide technical troubleshooting skills to maintenance and operations to restore product flow, as well as offer technical leadership and training to craft employees. This role involves developing technical solutions to recurring design, process, and application problems, and analyzing equipment and process data to identify opportunities for improvements. Additionally, this role will assist the maintenance department in both short and long-term outage planning and support supervisors and crafts in addressing VPM issues and items from the daily management action register.
Tennessee Operations is located 3 hours North of Atlanta, GA; 2.5 hours East of Nashville, TN; and 4 hours West of Charlotte, NC. Arconic’s Tennessee Operations is one of the most modern aluminum fabricating facilities in the world. Our plants produce high-quality molten metal and aluminum sheet and are recognized as a world leader in the business. The facility has been located at the Foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains for 100 years and continues to thrive and grow.
You have: (required)
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with electrical systems and controls utilized in industrial applications.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
- 5 years of experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles.
- 5 years’ experience in product and process failure analysis and an understanding of world class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, FMEA, RCM SPC, TQM, etc.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient problem solving and creative thinking skills.
- Strong maintenance background.
- Familiarity with instrumentation including HART communications.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Controls or technical certification
In this role, you will:
- Be installing, programming, and troubleshooting AC drives, DC drives and AB Logix5000 series Programmable Logic Controllers.
- Adhere to Arconic EH&S, quality, continuous improvement, and other company policies.
- Design of manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Develop, manage, and implement small capital projects, major repairs and maintenance projects.
- Be involved with continuous improvement initiatives of manufacturing methods.
- Work together with craft employees.
- Act as a resource for technical guidance to manufacturing personnel.
- Assist in justification of new equipment.
- Interface with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve technical issues.
- Act as direct support of the Maintenance Organization and Process Engineering.
- Respond to trouble calls on a 24/7 basis.
- Assist with and coordinate lockout/tagout safety procedures.
- Note: This position will require frequent shift and weekend line/maintenance support.
