Job Description
Arconic is currently in search of a Cost Accountant to join our Rolled Products North America (RPNA) business unit in Alcoa, TN. Arconic’s Tennessee Operations, is one of the most modern aluminum fabricating facilities in the world. Our plants produce high-quality molten metal and aluminum sheet and are recognized as a world leader in the business. The Cost Accountant position will report to the FP&A manager and be responsible in supporting all Plant/ BU finance functions including planning, forecasting, financial analysis, month end close, management reporting, and the financial statements. The position will also be responsible for executing and maintaining internal control processes to ensure compliance with Arconic Self-Assessment Testing (ASAT) and other internal audit requirements as well as US GAAP and Arconic GRP reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Execute key financial processes including – Monthly Closing, Analysis & Reporting, Account Reconciliations, Annual Planning & Monthly Forecasts
- Review, prepare, and post complex inventory movements in between various inventory categories.
- Conduct annual review and update of production center standard costs.
- Execute assigned monthly ASAT requirements – support periodic audits.
- Provide business modeling to enable/support financial decision to department, location management, and business consolidation.
- Analyze department spending variations and prepare formal monthly and quarterly variance reports.
- Work closely with the FP&A manager in the development, review, and submission of periodic financial forecasts, annual operating plans, and longer-term strategic plans.
- Provide input and analysis to various Location/GRP management meetings and presentations. Interpret and report financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, cost analysis, and forecasts.
- Participate in periodic physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Provide input to major financial improvement initiatives at the location (DI System)
- Review monthly financial statements of the location. Perform assigned account reconciliations.
- Engage in professional development activities.
- Drive automation, standardization, and streamlining of financial processes & reporting.
- Provide input to the CAPEX process – spending analysis, internal control, RFA, PPR
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
- Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA/CMA certification a plus
- MBA degree desirable
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in the accounting/finance area of a manufacturing facility
- Demonstrated experience with US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Practical experience with SAP/Oracle or another ERP software desirable
- Experience in data base query tools such as MS Access, Oracle Discoverer, or EPM desirable
- Demonstrated high levels of initiative
- Self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail
- Solid written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work with a team and form productive interpersonal relationships with colleagues
