Position: HR Specialist I

Location: Memphis, TN 38125 (Fully Onsite)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9 AM-5 PM

Pay Rate: $25.67/hr

Duration: 11 Months (Possibility of extension)

Role Summary

The HR Specialist I supports core HR operations in a fully onsite corporate environment, providing day-to-day assistance to employees, managers, and contingent workers. This role focuses on HR service delivery, compliance, and employee support, with regular interaction with managers regarding corporate hires, transfers, and workforce changes.

The position operates within a structured HR service model and manages Tier 2 HR help desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution of employee and manager inquiries. The role is expected to handle approximately 30–40 tickets per month.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 HR support for employee and manager inquiries via HR help desk ticketing system
  • Utilize HR systems including Workday (HRIS), First Advantage (background screening / ticketing support), Paradox, and E-Verify
  • Support HR processes related to corporate hires, internal transfers, and contingent workforce administration
  • Advise managers and employees on HR policies, compensation, benefits, job classifications, and employment procedures
  • Assist with job evaluations, salary determinations, and job description updates
  • Maintain accurate personnel records, HR documentation, and employee files
  • Support compliance with employment laws, EEO requirements, and internal HR policies
  • Provide responsive customer service for HR-related inquiries from employees and managers

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent HR experience
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and HR service tools
  • Basic understanding of employment law, compensation, benefits, and HR policies
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume ticketing environment
